Privacy, in plainer words
What swapd knows about you, who sees it, and what you can do about it. No legal-speak.
This is a short version of our full privacy policy. Both versions say the same things. If anything here and there contradict each other, the full policy is what counts legally.
1
What we know about you
To run swapd we need:
- Your email address (so you can sign in).
- Your name (what your partner calls you).
- Your date of birth (to check you’re old enough).
- A profile photo, if you upload one.
- The photos, voice notes, and messages you share in swaps.
That’s all. We don’t know where you are. We don’t read your camera roll. We don’t see your contacts. We don’t follow you around the internet.
2
Who sees it
Your photos and messages are between you and the one person you’re swapping with. Nobody at swapd looks at them.
The only exception: if you report a problem and ask us to look at something specific, we look at that specific thing to sort it out. Nothing else.
We don’t sell your data. We don’t show ads. We don’t use your stuff to train AI. There isn’t a feed. There isn’t a public profile. Nobody can find you unless you invite them personally.
3
What you can do about it
- See everything we have. Tap “Download my data” on the You tab. We’ll send you a file with all your stuff.
- Delete your account. Tap “Delete my account” on the You tab. Your profile and swaps go away. Your partner is told the swap is over.
- Remove a photo. Tap the photo, then “Ask them to take it down.” If they agree, it’s gone from both sides.
- Turn off notifications. In your phone’s settings, or in swapd’s settings.

If something’s wrong
If anything on swapd upsets you or makes you worry, tell us:
Or report it in-app by tapping the photo and choosing “Report.” A real person reads every report. We take them seriously.
If someone you don’t know is asking to swap with you, or anyone is making you uncomfortable, block them and tell us. swapd is only meant for people you actually know.
If you’re worried about your safety, please talk to a trusted adult. If you’re in the UK, you can also call Childline on 0800 1111 — it’s free and private.
