swapd

a small thing for two people

Two friends. One photo at a time.

swapd is a private photo app for two people. Each day you both answer a small prompt — a photo, a caption, a voice note — and neither of you sees the reply until you’re both in.

No feed. No streaks. No ads.

how it works

Ask. Answer. Reveal.

The whole app is three steps. The first five prompts come ready-made; after that, you make your own.

1.

Ask

Pick a prompt or write your own. “A photo from a day you’d live again.” “The most boring photo on your phone you can’t bring yourself to delete.”

2.

Both answer

You both pick a photo — from the camera roll or fresh — and lock it in. Neither of you can see the other’s answer until you’re both done.

3.

Reveal

Both photos drop side-by-side at the same moment. React, ask the next one, and it lands in The Lane — your shared archive of every swap.

The Today screen showing two swaps waiting on you. The compose screen — pick a photo, then lock it in. The reveal screen — both photos shown side-by-side. A conversation thread of every prompt and reply. The Lane — every swap, both ways, kept forever.

why swapd

Designed for two. That’s the whole brief.

Two people. By design.

Every swap is a private space between you and one other person. There’s no group chat, no third wheel, no audience. Want to share with someone else? Start a new swap.

No feed. No streaks. No nudges.

Pause for a year, the next photo lands as if you never left. Nothing turns red. Nothing guilts you back in.

Your photos stay between you.

Nobody at swapd browses them. We don’t sell your data, run ads, or train AI on your stuff. Either of you can ask for a photo to be taken down — if you both agree, it’s gone.

An archive that grows with you.

Every swap is kept in The Lane — a chronological scrap-archive of everything you’ve traded. Scroll back to anything, any time.

Make one with someone you love.

It’s free, takes a minute, and ruins nothing if you forget about it for a fortnight.
